Accu-Scan GPR is the perfect solution when the need arises to core holes for risers in a safe manner. You need to know what’s under the floor. That’s where we come in. We can help you keep the job going without any costly delays or accidents. Give us a chance to show you what’s hiding below the surface.
The locator we are equipped with specializes in the water and pipeline industry. It is the ideal product for standard cable and pipe location and the ideal solution for locating deep, underground pipes and drains which is difficult for standard locators. It can locate metallic and non metallic pipes which include cast iron, plastic, ductile, clay, concrete, and brick. By using the sonde attachment with the locator and combining ground penetrating radar, we are able to map difficult underground sewer networks.

What creates GPR reflections?
Ground penetrating radar (GPR) measurements, as shown here, detect reflected or scattered energy. In simple terms, our machine send a safe electromagnetic wave through the media (concrete, dirt, wood, etc.). And just like most radars, once it senses an object with a different dielectric, it will then send back a signal in the form of a hyperbola on the screen. There is a lot of different situations that would create what is referred to as “noise” which is a false signal returned back to the machine. This is where a technician with a trained eye would have to decipher the many signals that will appear. Unfortunately, many GPR users are not familiar with the more knowledgeable aspects of radio fields and material properties.
